PEG Presents: Self-Tying for Intimacy, Exploration, and Empowerment

Self-tying offers a unique opportunity to build a rope practice that’s entirely your own. Whether you’re looking for comfort, pain, restriction, beauty, or creative movement, self-tying can help you achieve your goals. In this class, we’ll talk as a group about our self-tying motivations, then discuss the safety considerations and consent dynamics of solo rope, including how risk management changes when you’re both the top and the bottom. We’ll also cover adaptations for ties that involve limited visibility or reach, how to involve spotters in your scenes, and scene etiquette for folks who tie solo at kink events. Attendees will be guided through one or two ties to kick-start their self-tying practice (specific ties to be selected based on attendee goals and interest).

Prerequisites

To get the most out of this class, attendees will need some basic tying skills (one or two solid single column ties, extending rope, and locking off rope). Of course, attendees with no tying experience are very welcome to join us as well! You’ll be able to participate in discussion and watch demos, but you may not be able to tie with us during the practical portion of the class.

Bios

@brat_crimson (they/them) & @PrissyPrincess43 (they/them)

Crimson and Prissy are self-tying rope practitioners who offer two distinct but complementary perspectives on solo rope. Crimson brings a quiet intensity to their practice, seeking deep immersion in their internal experience by grounding in what brings them joy throughout their scenes. Prissy thrives on movement and play, on using rope to explore their body through dynamic expression and sensory stimulus. Together, Crimson and Prissy aim to teach with a shared commitment to curiosity, autonomy, attention, and care. Whether your goals are inward or outward, structured or improvisational, they aim to help you discover the kind of self-tying that helps achieve those goals.
